So a while ago I found a sketch by Glen Keane on the web. It was apparently a concept art from a long time before the movie even came out because the Beast's design was kind of weird and Belle looked different, but the pose was this one. And I really liked it so I drew my own version of the scene. I thought it was an alternative scene to the wolves' sequence but someone pointed out it was probably inspired by a scene in Cocteau's movie version when Belle sees the Beast and faints.
I like both ideas :)

Belle: *wakes up* Huh? Wha? I had the weirdest dream...I dreamt I was attacked by a pack of wolves and saved by a big hairy guy.

Beast: Erm...

Belle: O_O :faint:

This actually made me think of a scene in the book 'Beauty' which is a retelling of the beauty and the beast story by Robin McKinley. It was written before the movie was made and I've always felt that a lot of the movie was inspired by this book (Belles love of books, the library, the horse....)
'Beauty' was one of my childhood favourites, I must have read it a dozen times! I believe McKinley went back a long time later and wrote another version titled 'Rose Daughter', sort of expanding on the original, which is fairly short, but I've never got around to hunting it down and reading it.

Great picture!!! I love the colors and lighting, and especially the Beast's gentle expression.

For the record, I like the Cocteau version way more than the Disney version!

I love it! ...she's also my favorite Disney Princess (apart from Rapunzel), because she loves books like me =3 Still need to see Frozen, though, can't wait to.
